trust

25. What are you relying on?

Sometimes, we tend to overrely on ourselves, our abilities, actions, jobs, achievements, connections, or even wealth.

When what we rely on fails, we get lost, confused, overwhelmed, or even depressed.

It is prudent to work hard and take action. Nothing moves until we do.

But we must also learn to rely on God, especially on things we can’t control like results and the fruits of our labor. Trusting in God means relying on Him Who is steady and constant.

When we’re overwhelmed, it’s good to pause and think about the things we rely on.

What are you relying on?

Remembering Easter daily

Easter Sunday is a commemoration and a celebration of Jesus’s resurrection.

But how can we make this Easter have a lasting effect on our lives and not just another day of celebration that passes us by?

While praying and reflecting, I wrote three things in my journal:

  • Live with gratitude daily. Easter is also a reminder of Good Friday. Thus, it’s a reminder of what Jesus went through for us. If we remember His sacrifice daily, we can live each day with gratitude and thanksgiving.

  • Live with hope daily. Jesus’s resurrection is a reminder of a new beginning and God’s promise of a brighter future. If we can remember Easter daily, we can confidently live that our future is in God’s hands.

  • Live with trust daily. Easter is a reminder that we can trust God even in the face of suffering and death. Has your trust in God been wounded? Easter is an opportunity to renew that trust. We may not see it now, but God can use the darkness we are facing and use it for our good and His glory.

Let’s keep Easter in our hearts daily, especially during days of Good Friday.
